     Consumers Digest names 2012 GMC Acadia and GMC Terrain "A Best Buy."

For 50 years, Consumers Digest has been committed to providing advice, evaluations and recommendations that lead consumers to exceptional values. And this Novelmber, both the 2012 GMC Acadia and the 2012 GMC Terrain were named a Consumers Digest "Best Buy," in their respective categories.

LOS ANGELES ? Owners of the new 2012 GMC Acadia crossover vehicle can be assured that their selection of GMC's full-size crossover will cost them less to own over time than competitor models.

ALG, the industry benchmark for residual values and depreciation data, awarded Acadia the 2012 Residual Value Award today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The award indicates that after three years of ownership, Acadia will be worth a higher percentage of its original sales price than any vehicle in its segment, including Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer.

Resale value is widely regarded as one of the most important vehicle purchase considerations because it can literally save consumers thousands of dollars over the life of the vehicle.

"Acadia stands out from the competition by combining features that you would expect from a luxury brand with rugged styling, a roomy interior and a fuel-efficient V6 engine," said Raj Sundaram, ALG spokesman. "These attributes were major factors in helping it claim the top spot in the full-size utility vehicle segment."

Acadia and its stable mate, the 2012 GMC Terrain smaller SUV, also earned Consumers Digest "Best Buy" awards in their respective segments.  

With innovative technologies like IntelliLink infotainment coming to Terrain later in 2012 and GM's innovative front center air bag debuting as standard equipment on Acadia in 2013, both vehicles are well-positioned to continue attracting consumers to GMC. As of October, one of every two Acadia and Terrain buyers this year was coming from a non-GM brand.
